LISTENING – SHRAVANA

The essence of enlightenment is to listen to others.

“Listening” is described as a mighty discipline that calls for great enlightenment.

In Jnana Yoga, “Shravana” becomes the first step. The second step is “Manana,” which means reflecting or ruminating upon what we hear. It is a process of digesting wisdom and making sincere efforts to understand.

In a state of Mouna (Silence), we become capable of deeper listening.

Listening is not only hearing words—it is an attitude of reverence toward the divinity around us.

Listening is an ongoing affair. The more deeply we enter into listening, the wiser we continue becoming.

“Shravanam Sharanam Gachchhami” — Listening becomes a sacred path.
