Family, Education & Early Life
Born in 1947 in Shakkarnagar, Bodhan (Telangana), Patriji grew up in a South Indian Brahmin family with four siblings, guided by a compassionate mother, Savitri Devi, and an academically gifted father, P.V. Ramana Rao. Influenced by this environment, all siblings excelled in studies—his elder brother Dr. Venu Vinod completed a Ph.D. from Manchester, his sister Dr. Sudha pursued advanced studies in Chemistry and later completed M.B.B.S., and his younger brother Aarvind passed away at age 15. Patriji completed his schooling in Shakkarnagar and Secunderabad, where he graduated with first class in 1963 and also met his flute guru, Master Chandrasekharan Garu.
Patriji finished his B.Sc. in 1966, briefly pursued M.A. English Literature, then shifted to Agriculture College, completing his B.Sc.(Ag) in 1969. He worked as an Income Tax inspector for ten months but resigned to pursue M.Sc.(Ag) while preparing for national exams and spending time reading in Hyderabad libraries. In 1974, he married Swarnamala Siriguri and had two daughters, Parinitha and Parimala. He later joined Coromandel Fertilizers Ltd. as an Assistant Sales Promotion Officer in Kurnool, earning multiple promotions and training in Carnatic music under Padmabhushan Dr. Sripada Pinakapani until 1978.
Patriji & His Guru
“Sadananda Yogi” also known as Kurnool Swamiji, was born in Arabia, stayed in the Himalayas and toured all of India, finally coming to Kurnool in the year 1975; the same year when Patriji also went to Kurnool on account of his job posting.
On January 1, 1981, Patriji, along with two other masters, Ramachenna Reddy and Venkataratnam, visited Sadananda Yogiji for the first time. Between January 1, 1981, and May 22, 1983, Patriji’s routine in Kurnool was to bring lunch, snacks, and tea for his Guru and to listen to him and his experiences from his long life. “Swamiji” never moved out of his old lodge.
“Kurnool Swamiji” voluntarily left his body on May 22, 1983, in the presence of Subhash Patri and Dr. Sripada Pinakapani.
Enlightenment
Life took a turning point for him in 1977 when Patriji learned about meditation and the experiences during meditation through his business colleague, Ramachenna Reddy.
On December 30, 1979, Patriji obtained the book “You Forever” by Tuesday Lobsang Rampa and while reading, he saw through the hardships that Rampa went through to put forward the truth and he knew that everything in the book was the truth.
Patriji’s enlightenment is described as JNANIC enlightenment, i.e., perfect intellectual understanding of All That Is. Unlike YOGIC enlightenment, the way Paramahansa Yogananda, Ramana Maharshi, or Buddha were enlightened; JNANIC enlightenment is the most unique in the gambit of enlightenment because while YOGIC enlightenment helps a few, JNANIC enlightenment helps the whole world.
Pyramid Spiritual Societies Movement (PSSM)
Patriji, along with spiritual friends, especially B.V. Reddy, Shri N.G. Showry, Paul Vijay Kumar, etc., established “The Kurnool Spiritual Society” during the year 1990 in Kurnool Town.
The sole mission of the society was to create intense awareness among all individuals about the science of Anapanasati Meditation and its primary role in providing physical, mental, and intellectual health and well-being to all.
In the year 1991, “Buddha Pyramid Meditation Center” was established with the help of Shri B.V. Reddy Garu, a great meditator-industrialist of Kurnool Town.
Resigning from his job at Coromandel Fertilisers Ltd. in the year 1992, Patriji dedicated himself to the service of mankind. Patriji’s dedicated efforts, since the year 1992, have resulted in hundreds of “Pyramid Spiritual Societies” being established throughout India.
In the year 1996, a second pyramid was built in Uravakonda, in Anantapur Dist., with the help of Shri Uravakonda Venkatesh Garu.
Patriji travelled extensively to every nook and corner of India, including remote villages throughout the year and gave meditational classes to individuals of all ages, education, and social strata.
